Laughing Past Midnight

Pull up a couple of rocking chairs, bring us each a stout, and let’s tell stories. Make it fact or make it fiction. Just make certain it makes for an interesting tale. Keep me laughing until way past the midnight hour. Or keep me interested until the sun shows up. Stories make us more fully alive.

The story of my life has had a lot of intriguing plot twists. I am certain you could tell a similar story regarding your life’s experiences. My current five year plan is to laugh at the mere idea of ever having a five year plan. I toast my stout to you and to our future plot twists!

I’ve decided to begin writing more flash fiction stories. Many of them will probably be between 500 and 750 words. These flash fiction stories will be written in one sitting and tossed out through this blog page for the world to see. You bring a drink to your computer and I will bring one to mine.

Storytelling, the pleasure of books read and my own words written, has greatly enriched my life. Stories are worth loving and living for! The right words from the right authors at the right time caused and continue to cause my soul to grow. I don’t ever want to stop learning while also becoming a better version of myself. Also, I never want to lose my love of life or the joy I have gained. Life is beautiful; let’s not lose sight of this truth.

I hope you enjoy my imaginative bursts of flash fiction that will be headed your way soon. Perhaps, in a small way, they will enrich your life’s story. Let us not cease laughing and living and loving and telling all our true and fiction stories. Let’s keep laughing until way past the midnight hour. Cheers!
